Lingzi JI is a Chinese artist, born in Hangzhou, near Shanghai in China. Graduated from the Chinese Academy of Fine Arts in 2007, she came to France to continue her studies at the Higher Institute of Fine Arts in Besançon since 2008. She obtained the national higher diploma of plastic expression in 2012 She currently lives in Paris. It is by observing the attitudes of the people around her that she creates landscapes composed of characters. His slow, serialist and universalist work, anonymous without uniformity, repetitive without repetition, frees the human being from his context and lays him bare on an empty background. The artist raised the question of interpersonal relationships, the relationship with the group and individuality very early on. In the relationships that form between the individual and the group, others are at the same time strength, support and prison. The question is asked: where does the group stop, where does the “I” begin? Explore each other’s position and relationship through observing and being observed by the work.
